Aristotle Provides FREE Wi-Fi for New Arkansas City Park
Aristotle is excited to provide FREE Wi-Fi for the John H. Johnson Park at the Delta Heritage Trail State Park Arkansas City Trailhead.
Arkansas City celebrates the life of pioneering black publisher, John H. Johnson, with the groundbreaking on November 1, 2022, of a new park to bear his name. John H. Johnson, an Arkansas City native, is known as founder, chairman, and CEO of Johnson Publishing Company, owner of Ebony and Jet magazines.
The free, all-day event will be hosted by actor, Nate Williams (Nice Guys Finish Last), with activities including an unveiling of the future park, live jazz music, a runway fashion show, award ceremony, Jet Magazine 70th Anniversary discussion, and more.

ABOUT JOHN H. JOHNSON
John H. Johnson (1918–2005) is a black icon known for founding the Johnson Publishing Company, owner of Ebony and Jet magazines. His publications gave a voice to black Americans and their unheard stories and experiences. Born of slaves, Johnson’s entrepreneurial spirit and perseverance helped him succeed in spite of his humble, rural beginnings. Among his many honors, Johnson received the Presidential Medal of Freedom and was the first African American to be named to Forbes Magazine list of 400 wealthiest Americans. ABOUT THE DELTA HERITAGE TRAIL
The John H. Johnson Park is situated at the trailhead of the Delta Heritage Trail, an 84.5-mile bike and pedestrian trail that weaves through the Arkansas Delta Hardwood forest, miles of rich farmland and oxbow lakes. When completed, the trail will connect Lexa in the north to Arkansas City in the south. The final 40 miles connecting the two completed trail sections are scheduled for completion in 2025 thanks to a $40 million investment split between the Walton Family Foundation and federal grant money. It is expected that the trail will create 600 jobs and add a much-needed spark to local tourism revenue.
